Deforestation is a critical component of the growing global warming concerns, as less trees mean less carbon dioxide being converted to oxygen, along with many of the other benefits that trees provide. I don't think that enough is being done to counteract and stop the effects of deforestation, and I think that governmental policy should reflect a higher regard for the importance of the forests in preserving our environment.
