i agree that people between the ages of 18-24 are intersted in politics and are infact active, but they may not show it in polls because not a lot of them vote. However, i think with sources such as Facebook, hopefully the younger age group can become more motivated to not only be interested in political activites but to take action. I think more young people need to take their ideas and put it in effect by voting. This way, the candidates are able to fullfill the desires of all of the american people. Thus, by the younger age group voting, this will ultimately lead to a stronger country.
I think facebook is amazing. Although most people (me being one of them) use it for posting pictures of themselves or adding pointless applications, it has an effect on politics. The main facebook audience, high shool and college students, have the opportunity to join groups to show their support, the Colbert Group in this case. Although many of the people that join the group to support Colbert's candidacy as a joke, I think the group is beneficial. If we didn't have these groups, many young people would not even be aware of anything occuring in politics. So, we should continue to support these groups because they get many people politically aware. But at the same time, we should not take them so seriously because, after all, there ARE groups that debate how to pronounce the word "crayon" or ask you to marry certain people.
